Discussion 6/24

These came up during the session, please add to this thread by click Comments, below.

The film "Diving Bell and the Butterfly" (IMDB entry), available now through NetFlix.

From TED.com, Jill Bolte Taylor: My stroke of insight.

Edie's comment about the First Law of Thermodynamics (Wikipedia entry): In any process, the total energy of the universe remains the same. Energy cannot be created or destroyed.

We also learned that people who are ticked off at the birds call the Audubon Society. ;o)

We had cake to celebrate Edie's embarking on a new chapter in her life -- we'll miss you, Edie!

I should also note that we are on Chapter 7, around verse 14, of Shantideva's "The Guide to the Bodhisattva Way of Life." We're using both the Wallace translation and Pema Chodron's commentary. Join us on Tuesdays at 7:30 at the Tri-Con church in Concord. More info at the Jhamtse International web site.

All: Thanks for setting this up, Veronica! Yes, we are all going to miss Edie and wish her all the best! No doubt she will have a great "journey" as she takes on new adventures, and we look forward to receiving updates from the road.
QUESTION: I found my "Kundun" DVD that is 2 hours 14 minutes long. Is there any interest in seeing it over the summer as a little change from the book study? If so, do we want to cram it into one evening or break it up? Or not.
Thanks,
Bruce
